July Photo Challenge week 1
A friend of mine on Facebook was involved in taking a picture a day to express the "word of the day" for the month of June. As I watched what she did, I realized how I need to work on keeping my camera close and capture daily life. When I learned of a photo a day challenge in July, I decided to try it. Since not all of you are on Facebook, I thought I would post once a week the photos from the week. I hope you enjoy.
July 1- weather

This is a view over my back yard wall. There is a coconut and papaya tree. For a pilot's wife, a clear blue sky is always a blessing.
July 2- Hands

This is a picture of Luis, our house helper, giving Justin a cookie. We are very thankful for the wonderful and trustworthy house helper God has provided for us. With the changed needed for Justin's diet, I have really appreciated his help and willing to learn new ways of doing and making things. Very few people here know how to bake, so one of the things we have been learning is how to bake. It's a skill I can teach him that will be another way for him to help add to his income.
July 3: Shoes

Sandals: the shoe of choice here ALL year long!!
July 4- July 4

For us, July 4th is just another day. But we did enjoy having some friends over for dinner. It was the first time our Mozambican friend had tasted donuts. It was fun introducing him to donuts a very American food.

I saw this at the Wycilffe base the next day. I just had to take the photo as I could totally related with this picture. I'm definitely an American but living in Africa.
July 5- Wildflower

These are flowers that you see all over the city. They have to be planted but once they are planted they go crazy! This is at the Wycliffe base, a place we love going and hang out and let the kids run.
July 6- Sleeping

So I tried to get a picture of Kayla sleeping, guess I was a little too late. She was so quiet though, I was sure she was out. ;)

To my surprise, Alissa was fast asleep. Can you find her? She is in the mosquito net, under the blanket, and head on the pillow. She has always had an ability to "hid" when she sleeps.
July 7- healthy

As many of you know, we have been struggling with health issues with Justin. So my thoughts went to physical health. Ironically, the girls and I were sick this day. But then I
was thinking about how thankful I am that my son and his daddy have such a healthy relationship. I'm also thankful that July 7th was a good day for Justin and for one day it felt like I had a healthy little boy.
